Insulated Drapes Solve Major Heat Loss
A large part of a type of design called “passive solar design” is insulated drapes. Insulated drapes provide natural heating and cooling in homes. Some people refer to insulated drapes as cheaper heat, which it is.
The cost of buying or making insulated drapes is reimbursed by savings on energy bills because most of the heat in average houses is lost through windows. Multiple energy conservation organizations have released tips on how to save energy. All of the tips include a recommendation to use insulated drapes.
The most effective insulated drapes should be thickly lined and tight fitting to a window. Insulated drapes are made with thick material, usually cotton, or they are multi layered. Not only do the drapes prevent excess drafts of cold or hot air, they also lessen window condensation because the air between the window and the insulated drape is cooler than the temperature in a house.
